For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Lua, Tcl, Python; Worldwide training classes

The subjects we teach are used worldwide - there's just as much requirement to learn about Python in Salerno as there is in Swindon, about Tcl in Milwaukee as there is in Manchester, and about Lua in Buffalo as there is in Birmingham. But subjects like Lua are "niche", and the training volume simply isn't been high enough for us to provide any sort of "train the trainer" program and have a set of trainers worldwide. So we write and present our own materials, and indeed we tailor each private course to meet the needs of the class - that way, we can make a viable (and enjoyable and effective) business from the specialized courses anywhere in the world.

Since the courses are presented by the course authors who know the subject intimately, programming language courses (such as Lua, Python, Ruby, Tcl ...) will not only take the class through the mechanisms, but will also take the class's own data and requirements and discuss and build those into fresh examples. Importantly, the delegates complete the course knowing not only WHAT Lua can do, but how to design Lua programs to do what they need.

What does this cost? Not as much as you might think! It's usual for training companies to charge travel expenses, and also for the tutor's time, as (s)he travels to site. We charge only for expenses (and NOT for the time / extra days of travel), and we base it on a fixed rate for each country / state so that our client knows exactly what he will be paying right from the beginning. If you are a reseller, you are then at liberty to charge your final customer whatever you like to cover the additional service that you're adding to our course.

There's one caveat. We're fluent in English - but we don't have Spanish, Chinese, Afrikaans, Urdu or many other language skills available within our team. So we'll ask that delegates you book onto a course understand English well - or that you have a good technical translation service running with the course. We used such a service (and were very impressed) in Guadalajara a while back ... having said which, many IT professional groups that learn our subjects are international ones and they communicate in English in their day to day work environment, even if they're a long way from England.

Please ... get in touch with us - email via info@wellho.net or via our inquiry form if you're looking for specific information about training in a particular subject area, and how we could deliver that for a particular part of the world. Or if you prefer to have a look around our site, you'll find overviews of our base course agenda to hand - (Python Programming, PHP, Perl, Ruby, Lua, Tcl, C and C++, Linux Operating System, MySQL Database, Apache Http Server & Tomcat) and sample pricing for private courses also published ( Swindon, Wiltshire, UK, Manchester, UK, Birmingham, UK, Edinburgh, Scotland, Salerno, Italy, Oslo, Norway, Buffalo, USA, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA). Full country list [here].

If you have just one or two people to train, why not have them come on one of our public training classes? We run public training classes in each of the subjects listed above, at our Melksham, Wiltshire, England training Centre. It is under 2 hours from London's Heathrow Airport ... and even closer to Southampton and Bristol ... and we can arrange for a car to meet your delegate's flight. We also provide rooms for our delegates (we are a hotel too) so you can book everything easily through us. The public course schedule is [here].
