For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))

Python module Y205
Further uses of Python
Exercises, examples and other material relating to training module Y205. This module is presented on Private Courses and Specially Run Courses only

As well as stand-alone and Web use, Python can be used in a number of other environments such as Jython and TkInter. These are specialist uses that only a small proportion of Python users need, but if you don't know that something's available, you can't use it. In this module we inlcude the briefest introduction to these wider uses of Python.

1663Python in an afternoon - a lecture for experienced programmers
Last Friday afternoon I was set a challenge - to present Python in three hours to a group of 20 very experience programmers who, however, knew nothing about this particular language. Superb technologies which are included in our Python course notes for this week, but are being left OUT of the presentations. Why? With a Tk Graphic User Interface, you can add a friendly look and feel to an application running on your workstation if it's written in Tcl (Tcl/Tk), Perl (Perl/Tk) or Python (TkInter). 190Python engines
Most Python users run the language "native". But that's not the only way to run it - Jython is the Python syntax under Java where it provides a useful scripting language with access to Java classes and objects. Then there's Python for .NET, and what's this I hear about a grammar being defined to let ...

745Python modules. The distribution, The Cheese Shop and the Vaults of Parnassus.
What if Python doesn't include a class / method that you would like, but you've got that feeling that "surely someone's done this before"? 1. They probably have 2. They've probably made it an available 'Open Source' 3. It's just a question of you knowing where to look! Where to look ... a) The built ...
