For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Some web site statistics
The following pie charts represent accesses to our main web site at http://www.wellho.net for the 4 week period up to Friday 29th March 2024.
Here are some questions answered in the form of pie charts

Select Navigation OFF to enlarge the charts

What browser are your visitors using?

What return status are you giving?

Statuses which are often too small to show up on the pie chart include
403 - Forbidden URL
404 - File not found
500 - Internal Server Error

Which directories are accessed the most?

Careful of this chart - the downloads directory contains old issues of the Of Course newsletter which are big files and skew the statistics

Where do people visit you from?

.com domains (usually a big wedge on this chart) combine both USA and worldwide commercial organisations - so may of the hits shown in this area (and also in the "unresolved" area) will in fact be from countries shown in other wedges.

What did people look for and fail to find? (Error 404)

Note that this represents a tiny part of our traffic - see the pie chart above for that breakdown. URLs appearing here are often unauthorised attempts to update our site, or people looking for "back doors" that exist on many sites but (since they got a 404) not ours ;-)

What operating system do your visitors browse from?

How are people referred to your pages??

I'm very happy to see that the majority of this pie chart is given over to our own site as it indicates that visitors are staying around rather that being "one hit wonders". As I write this label, the chart is showing the dominance of Google in the search engine and referral business, but there's a major "other" area too.

What are your most requested URLs?

Commonly high scoring here - our style sheet (styles.csp) and images that are shared across between many pages. favicon.ico and whc.ico often makes an appearance; great news as it means that someone may be bookmarking us.

What search words bring people to your site??

Usually looks good - most of the significant words you'll see here relate closely to what the site is about. An occasional "blip" may occur if we have some really interesting off topic resource. The longer reports that go with this pie chart make fascinating reading.

What types of file make up your web site traffic?

Usually shows a lot of good content ...

We have many other charts, diagrams and tables that tell us about our web site traffic (we generate them through the analog package). Such information cannot be published here due to privacy and other business reasons.
