For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))

/* If you're writing a full application (perhaps a number
of them!) in PHP, you'll want it to be easy to write, easy
to maintain, easy to modify, and robust and consistend for
the user.  Using the "4 layer model" will help you achieve
these aims - you'll write each piece of logic only once,
keep it encapsulated in simple functions that you can easily
test and amend, and share between applications.

The four layers are:
1. The Web helper functions
2. The business logic
3. The template (look at feel) of the page(s)
4. The top layer - this file - that pulls it all together

Our PHP programming course (http://www.wellho.net/course/ph.html)
covers this 4 layer model and gives you an opportunity to try
it out - tailoring our shell to provide a simple but complete
application.  This file - like all other source on our courses -
is available for free download on the Internet and you are
welcome to make use of it if you wish. However, to make the
best of it we stongly advise to come along to the training;
there is a limit to just how much of a manual we can write in
here in order to tell you how it all fits together! */
